Trigon Duel

Trigon has always been a puzzle you solve on your own. Now you can play it against another person — the same puzzle, one board, two clocks.

Solo Trigon — or Trigon at full power?

Same puzzle, same rule: a centre number is always the sum of its three sides. But a Duel is a different kind of challenge altogether.

Solo — the books and apps

You set the pace. Take as long as you like, pencil in ideas and rub them out, put the puzzle down and come back tomorrow. In the apps, Help is there if you're stuck. The reward is the journey: finding the one route through, by logic alone.

Duel — two players, one board

A real opponent and a clock on every move. Every placement counts: +1 when you're right, −1 when you're wrong or out of time. No Help, no answers to check. When nothing is certain you must decide where to gamble — and every mistake can hand your opponent the advantage.

Forced moves — and the ones you must remember

A forced move is a placement that is the only one possible: nothing else fits. Trigon's golden rule is never to put in a number because it will fit — only because nothing else will.

Over 80% of Duel puzzles can be solved entirely with forced moves. The rest need more: you pencil in a possibility and hold it in your head until the forced move finally appears. These are most common in the Hard and Extreme puzzles, where about half are like this — and that is where a Duel is won or lost.

What a Duel asks of you

Speed of thought

The forced moves must be found fast, with your opponent's clock waiting on yours.

Logic under pressure

The same deductions as solo solving — made with the clock running and points at stake.

Tactics and nerve

Choose where to risk a guess, when to take a safe point, and when to send a rattled opponent back in.

How a Duel works

One puzzle, two players

You and your opponent — anywhere in the world — share the same board and take turns to place a triplet.

Against the clock

You agree a thinking time for each move. Press Ink to place, and your opponent's clock starts. Run over, and you lose a point.

Every move counts

A correct placement scores a point; a wrong one loses a point — and your opponent decides: take the turn, or send you back in.

Tactics, not just logic

When nothing is certain, where you choose to guess matters. A careless mistake can hand your opponent an easy run.

Take a break

Big puzzles can take hours. Pause by agreement, and finish another day — the board waits for you both.

Fair play

The answers stay on our server, never on your screen. Nobody can look them up — only skill wins.
